Mike Jerome, the owner, has gained a reputation for doing honest, quality work. Despite the demands of a growing small business, Mike is available for his clients in a way that many larger businesses cannot afford to be. Mike has been in the business since 1982, and in 1997 he began working for the former owner.
Under the expertise of his boss, who was a World Champion Tree Climber, Mike learned the trade and honed his skill. Mike soon found himself amongst the more skilled climbers in the world as he racked up awards, winning the New England Championship four times. Then in 2002, his boss decided to turn over the day to day management of Barkbusters to an able successor. Mike stepped up and bought the company. He has been the business owner ever since.
Mike is certified by the Mass Arborists Association and the International Society of Arboriculture. As the business has grown, he has picked up the state Pesticide License and Mauget Injection Certification to treat ailing trees infected by Winter Moth and Hemlock Woolly Adelgid.
